cityWILD targets middle school and high school youth who are at-risk for a variety of reasons including the presence of risk factors in their schools, community, and families.

ncityWILD actively recruits youth primarily from northeast Denver. The organization offers after school programming during the academic school year for middle school students (Monday thru Friday) on-site at Wyatt-Edison Charter School and Bruce Randolph School. Students that participate in the middle school after school program can expect to focus on gaining skills in interpersonal dynamics, leadership, teambuilding, substance abuse and tobacco prevention, outdoor education, and environmental service learning.

Participating high school students can develop advanced leadership skills by aiding cityWILD instructors in the facilitation of the middle school program. This peer teaching component occurs in conjunction with high school specific programming, which is offered two days per week and focuses on professional development, college prep, financial management, teambuilding, substance abuse & tobacco prevention, and service learning.

In addition to regular after school programming, cityWILD offers youth the opportunities to participate in unique wilderness experiences. Core participants have an opportunity to participate in weekend adventures during the school year and spring/summer expeditions when school is out of session.
