Gear to Grow & Waypoint Adventure Partnership
Gear to Grow has worked with Waypoint Adventure since December 2010. Gear to Grow has organized several donations including winter clothing, outdoor apparel, neoprene booties, spray skirts and hiking boots. The donations from Gear to Grow have allowed Waypoint Adventure to continue to keep their programs affordable by offsetting the costs to purchase clothing and equipment.
“We were very grateful to receive the donations from Gear to Grow. Many of our participants are restricted by a lower socioeconomic status, and these donations have helped us keep participants properly clothed on our adventures.”

Snowshoeing 2010 - 2011
As some of you may know, this winter was one for the record books in New England. At one point we had a general base of 40 plus inches in the Boston area. Needless to say we had the opportunity to facilitate multiple Snowshoeing programs where the winter layers donated by Gear to Grow were essential. Thanks Gear to Grow!
Hiking 2011
After a long winter we were very glad to see the mercury rise and the snow melt. There is something about the brilliance of spring especially after a winter of heavy snow. The synthetic layers, rain jackets and high quality boots donated by Gear to Grow have been crucial in helping our youth and adults access the freshness of the spring woods. Thanks Gear to Grow!

Kayaking 2011
It’s amazing how quickly spring turns to summer around here. One day it’s a clear dry 60 degrees and the next it’s 85. At Waypoint, summer heat means it’s time to kayak. However, if you know anything about New England, when the air temp changes so quickly, it takes some time for the water to catch up. Without the donation of neoprene booties and spray skirts from Gear to Grow, our participants could have been pretty uncomfortable. Thanks Gear to Grow!
